DECATUR, Ga. (AP)—A man is facing a
murder charge in the shooting death of his
own grandson.
The shooting happened around 8:30p.m.
Tuesday at an apartment complex after the
two got into a dispute, DeKalb County
police said.
Gilford Painter, 68, is charged with
murder, said police officer Herschel
Grangent. Painter was being held without
bond Wednesday in the DeKalb County Jail.
The 23-year-old grandson was shot in
the head in front of his mother and girlfriend,
Grangent said. Police have not
released the victim's name, nor have they
said what caused the argument.
